VYPE DFW takes a dive into the two teams and what fans can expect headed into Friday's game!
Joshua Lady Owls
The Lady Owls have put together what has been a dream of a season. Known for always fighting to be the best and accomplishing the goals that they put before themselves, Joshua finished at the top of their district this season. The Lady Owls posted big regular-season victories over Azle, Denton Braswell, Corsicana, Cleburne, Midlothian, Cleburne, and more while outscoring their opponents by a combined 89 goals.
Highland Park Lady Scots
The Lady Scots are known for hard work, determination, and skill. When it comes down to it, Highland Park is an excellent team. The Lady Scots finished at the top of their district with a 96% win percentage and an undefeated record this season. Posting only two draws- against Cedar Park in preseason play and Royse City in district play- the Lady Scots outscored their opponents by a combined 110 goals this season.
What To Expect:
Joshua's main goal for quite a while has not only been making it to the state tournament, but winning it all. With an offense that isn't afraid of a challenge and a defense that can match even their toughest opponents, fans can expect the Lady Owls to come into the game with the mindset to get the job done and move on to the next round.
Highland Park is a fast-paced team that can set the tone early in any game that they play. The offense continues to power over their opponents defenses while maintaining a tempo that opponents have a hard time keeping up with usually. The defense has been able to shut down the majority of striking attempts by other teams' offenses with ease. Fans can expect to see the Lady Scots do everything to take control of the match early.
The game is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1st in Kennedale.
