[PHOTO GALLERY] Beeville falls to no. 4 Cuero
In a hard-fought week five battle, the Beeville Trojans hosted state-ranked no. 4 Cuero. Amped up on energy from defeating no. 10 Somerset the week before, the team was geared up and ready to take on the Gobblers. Despite a tough 49-21 loss, the Trojans showed plenty of talent and focus on the field.
Beeville is 4-1 as they head into a BYE week. With determination to continue strong into district play (beginning on October 6th against Floresville), Beeville will look to take down their opponents through the rest of the season in a dominating fashion. A host to dominating athletes like Davyn Perez, Darion Perez, Seth Gutierrez, Ryne Espinoza, Landon Briones, Edward Brako, Joshua Arroyos, Elijah Sustaita, and more, the Trojans can be expected to be a favorite in their district this season.

PREVIEW: Undefeated Somerset hosts undefeated Beeville
Two undefeated South Texas teams are geared up to face off in a non-district battle. The Somerset Bulldogs host the Beeville Trojans looking to put on a Friday night show in front of a home crowd. VYPE takes a look at these two teams and dives into what fans can expect as they head into this Friday night matchup:
Beeville Trojans (3-0)
Beeville has been a dominant force this season. Posting three consecutive victories over strong opponents, this team has something special in them this season. Defeating rival Sinton (23-16), Orange Grove (41-33), and Robstown (49-27), the Trojans continue to march into stadiums, run through the tunnel, and leave their mark in every single moment of gameplay.
Led by a slew of athletes who are focused on creating challenges for each opponent, the Trojans head to Somerset on Friday night. Davyn Perez, Seth Gutierrez, Joshua Arroyos, Edward Brako, Elijah Sustaita, Beau Auzston, Darion Perez, Landon Briones, Austin Arredondo, and others have continued to be major playmakers for the Trojans as they topple opponents week after week.
Somerset Bulldogs (3-0)
Also a dominant force, Somerset has made it known that they aren't to be taken lightly. With three consecutive victories, the Bulldogs have overpowered their opponents allowing only 58 points against them combined this season. Week one saw a 49-21 dominance over San Antonio Southside while week two saw a closer, hard-fought 21-16 battle against San Antonio Central Catholic. Last week, Somerset traveled to Floresville and recorded a 42-21 victory.
Josiah Lugo, Ruben Moreno, Robert Spaulding, Jermiah Contreras, Jason Flores, Ray Faz, Jaden Faz, Zackary Serna, Brandon Kemp, Jensen Panchame, and others make up this season's squad of Bulldogs who have no quit. Fast-paced and quick to set the tone, this team is going to do whatever it takes to give Beeville a run for their money on Friday night.
What To Expect
Both teams will have high energy headed into this second-to-last non-district matchup. Last season, Somerset posted a 43-22 victory over the Trojans and will look to dismantle Beeville on Friday night. Beeville, however, is a host to a special sophomore class mixed with strong upperclassmen leaders. The Trojans aren't going to go down without a battle. A clash of the undefeateds is something fans aren't going to want to miss. Expect a back-and-forth battle between both of these teams as both strive to remain at the top of the world.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. at Somerset High School.
