Eyes on the Prize: Keller Indians Hoops
Bound and determined to secure a deep playoff run this season, the Keller Indians basketball team has been putting in the work to get the job done. VYPE DFW takes a look at the team as they continue their district schedule:
REWIND
Going 25-11 last season (13-1 in district play), the Indians finished the season at the top of their district standings. Outscoring their opponents by nearly 400 points on the year, the Indians were able to post incredible victories over tough opponents including Waxahachie, Mansfield, Dawson, Denton Guyer, Keller Central, and V.R. Eaton en route to the playoffs. Once in the playoffs, the Indians recorded victories over Fort Worth Paschal and Permian before falling to North Crowley in overtime.
This Season So Far
Posting a 14-5 record through non-district play, the Indians have set themselves up for success this season. The team has recorded several convincing victories including those over Mesquite Horn (55-46), Melissa (64-54), McKinney Boyd (70-51), Bentonville West (61-30), Denton Guyer (64-45), and more en route to their district schedule.
Facing two district opponents before a holiday break, the team recorded victories over Southlake Carroll (64-44) and Byron Nelson (53-34). Throughout the holiday break, the Indians continued to participate in tournament play where they sharpened their skill and secured more non-district victories. The team resumes district play on January 5th against Keller Fossil Ridge where fans can expect Keller to showcase their talent. Led by the likes of Steven Ramirez, Quinn Estep, Rhett Schank, Alex Peterson, Kyle Stanislaus, and others, fans can expect this fast-paced team to continue putting in the work this season as they hunt for another playoff spot.
Keller Lady Indians advance to the area round
After sealing the deal and finishing first in their district this season, the Keller Lady Indians punched another piece of their ticket in the 2021 Girls State Basketball Championships Playoffs ticket Thursday night with a 72-61 win over Boswell.
The win marked a bi-district championship title for the Lady Indians. Keller's basketball Twitter posted about the accomplishment:

A win over Boswell marked Keller's 20th win on the season improving to a 20-6 record (10-2 in district). The Lady Indians have outscored their opponents by over 450 points so far this season.
