VYPE Coaches Corner: Concordia Lutheran Volleyball Coach Kim Odinga; 2024 Game-Plan
With the Fall season here, it has officially become our busiest time of the year, given the bevy of campus-coordinated media days on our schedule.
Recently, our team traveled to Concordia Lutheran High School for their 2024 Fall Media Day.
We spoke with CLHS Head Coach Kim Odinga, discussing the Crusaders' difficult first-half of to the season, and what's in store for the remainder of their district schedule.
Check out the interview below!
THE LAST CRUSADE: No. 4 Concordia Lutheran in pursuit of coveted TAPPS Title
NO. 4 -- CONCORDIA LUTHERAN CRUSADERS
Head Coach: Kim Odinga
2023: 38-13/TAPPS-6A State Semifinalists
IN HEAD COACH KIM ODINGA’S FIRST YEAR BACK WITH THE CLHS PROGRAM, THE CRUSADERS PROCEEDED TO ADVANCE ALL THE WAY TO THE TAPPS-6A STATE SEMIS, MARKING THE TEAM’S NINTH APPEARANCE OVER THE LAST DECADE.
While they were ultimately defeated by the eventual State Champions Prestonwood Christian, this year’s Concordia Lutheran squad is looking to for another shot at the title.
First-team, all-state honoree Haley Herndon (Sr. OH) is back to lead the Crusaders in the final stretch of her impressive high school career, alongside state second-teamer McKinzie Riley (Sr. OH), Imerie Jones (second-team, all-district), and Sam Houston State-commit Carleigh Schluter (Honorable Mention).
Could this be the year Concordia Lutheran wins it all, for the first time since 2016?
