District Preview: Byron Nelson just might be the it team this season
After finishing second in their district last year with a playoff run to be proud of, the Byron Nelson Lady Bobcats are back at it this season looking to dominate their district schedule. Before they can do that, though, they have a handful of non-district games to close out. VYPE DFW dives into what fans can expect from this team!
Non-District So Far
The Lady Bobcats have already posted an incredible record; 18-2 with a 90% winning percentage. Having dropped only eight sets out of a combined 58, Byron Nelson is on track to be the team to beat moving forward. The Lady Bobcats already defeated well-known opponents like Justin Northwest (3-1), Flower Mound (3-0), McKinney (3-1), Grapevine (3-0), Euless Trinity (3-0), and more. Having posted 15 shut-out victories in their 20 games so far, the Lady Bobcats are stronger than ever as they look to close out non-district play with a home game against Plano East on September 1st.
What To Expect
As the team heads into district play, they very well might be one of the top contenders to make a statement season with another deep playoff run. Led by talented athletes like Kylie Kleckner, Averi Bourgeois, Emily Housknech, Nora Conway, Kalli Hall, Rayvyn Thomas, Zion Coats, Anna Koster, Hadley Warden, Ryleigh Francis, and more, the team has never been more prepared to dominate the court. Byron Nelson will open district play on Friday, September 8th on the road against the Southlake Carroll Lady Dragons.

Byron Nelson volleyball dominates their way to a playoff spot
The Byron Nelson Lady Bobcats are back on top this season after posting a less-than-ideal district record last season. The team won the state title in the 2019-2020 season, finished second in their district in the 2020-21 season, posted a 3-9 district record last season, and learned from every moment over the last few seasons. With a fire in their heart to rebuild and get right back to their usual dominance, Byron Nelson is headed back to playoffs. What has their season looked like? Regular Season
This season, the Lady Bobcats have posted a 36-5 overall record with a 10-4 district record to finish second in their district- just behind a strong Keller team. The Lady Bobcats opened the season 10-straight victories against competitive opponents in non-district matchups; seven of those victories were shut-out wins. Throughout the regular season, Byron Nelson has dropped only 28 sets while winning over 100. The team has remained strong while defeating the likes of Weatherford, Austin Vandegrift, Rockwall, Haltom, Southlake Carroll, V.R. Eaton, and more. Led by Sydnee Peterson, Samantha Hoppes, Morgan Inemer, Kylie Kleckner, Nora Conway, Campbell Love, and more, the Lady Bobcats have been nearly unstoppable as they record victory after victory and keep their eyes on the prize.

To say the team is ready for playoffs would be an understatement. Byron Nelson volleyball is one team that fans can guarantee are always ready for anything that is in front of them. With the desire to get back to the state tournament, fans can expect Byron Nelson to play hard and treat each game as if they are back on the court in Carrollton vying for the state title.
