District Preview: Rowlett prepares for district opponents
As the Rowlett Lady Eagles volleyball team prepares for district play, they reflect on their non-district opponents. Looking to regroup and get back into the swing of action, the team is ready to fight against all odds and bring the action when district play begins on Friday.
Non-District Schedule
Throughout their non-district schedule, the Rowlett Lady Eagles have fought on the court against each opponent. Keeping their energy high, the team has been able to defeat a handful of teams. WIth hard-fought sets against some of the toughest volleyball teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the Lady Eagles have taken many learning opportunities and turned them into game knowledge as they have moved forward with their schedule. Ending non-district play on a high note, the team posted a 3-0 victory over South Garland on Tuesday, August 29th in front of a home crowd. Using this energy as they head into district play, fans can expect big things.
District Play
With district play beginning on Friday, September 1st, athletes like Lola Martinez, Maddison Valderas, Reese Davison, Mya Phillips, Ciara Wheeler, Saron Fanta, Jaycie Stanley, Alivia Cheatham, Makkedah Thompson, and more are prepared to do whatever it takes to push through their district schedule and end up in the playoffs. Their first district game will be on the road against a tough Wylie East. From there, the team will stay on the road against Wylie before their district home opener against Garland Naaman Forest on September 8th. Looking to secure several victories in district play, fans can expect this team to put hard work to the test right out of the gate.

V.R. Eaton Lady Eagles Soccer Battling Through District
The V.R. Eaton Lady Eagles have had a season of building. After finishing last season in the Region I Quarterfinals, the Lady Eagles hit offseason and started working hard to prepare for a tough season ahead. The Lady Eagles continue to battle through district play and look to improve their schedule over the next few weeks.
So Far
This season the team has been working hard to get on the right path. Fighting against tough non-district opponents, the Lady Eagles were able to post big victories over the likes of El Paso Eastwood, Lewisville, New Braunfels, and more- blanking three of their preseason opponents. Using the preseason to make sure they were fresh and ready for district play, the Eaton squad entered district energized and prepared for anything. The team has posted two district victories- a 7-0 victory over Keller Fossil Ridge and a 9-1 victory over Haltom.
What To Expect
Having faced each of their district opponents already, the team is more keen on what to expect going forward. Ready to put hard work to the test throughout the rest of district play, Eaton fans can expect to see a team that is geared up with fire in their hearts. Playing with passion and a physical presence on the field, expect to see a tone of readiness throughout the rest of district play.
The team's next game is a rematch against Keller Central on Friday, February 24 with a 6:30 p.m. start time. The game will be played in Keller.
