VYPE's Mid-Season Rankings for H-Town Girls Hoops; FB Austin holds top spot
Just like that, two months have come and gone since the preseason on the Texas high school girls basketball scene.
As teams vie for district supremacy, it's becoming clear which standouts will pose a threat once the postseason comes around in February.
To the surprise of very few, Fort Bend Austin has been up to the task among some of the best that the city has to offer, as they currently sit at the top of our rankings. The usual suspects -- Cy Springs, Summer Creek, and Pearland -- are right behind them, however.
Some of the more unexpected developments (not to the teams, I'm sure) in the year thus far include the meteoric rise of C.E. King, Katy Taylor, and Klein Collins, who have each earned a spot in our top-10.
With so much more action to come, it's time to dish out the current VYPE rankings.

POWER OF THE PACK: Baymon captains No. 16 Langham Creek in 2024
Langham Creek reached the Regional Quarterfinals a year ago before falling to Cypress Springs to finish the season with an overall record of 23-13.
Team captain Heather Baymon (Sr, G) will be the straw that stirs the drink in 2024, returning as the team’s leading scorer. She averaged 16.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, four steals and 2.4 assists per game for the Lobos.
Other key returners include Brooke Prevost (So. F), who averaged 6.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and Jade Prevost (Sr. G), who averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
This program has been a perennial playoff team and one can expect that again this season.
