VYPE Media's Joshua Koch caught up with Memorial volleyball coach Kaddie Platt to talk about the season thus far and much more.
2020 Memorial Mustangs Volleyball Preview
Welcome to the 2020 volleyball season. What a weird offseason it was for everyone. No club tournaments to travel to, limited training available but what that means is everyone should be fresh for the 2020 campaign.
VYPE previewed 30 public school teams in this year's VYPE Houston Volleyball Preview. Here is one of the Dark Horses - the Memorial Mustangs.

Memorial Mustangs
Memorial has become a consistent playoff program. As the Mustangs enter 2020, they seek a 10th-straight playoff appearance. Impressive. Kathleen Platt's squad has the pieces to keep the streak alive. Last year, Memorial went 33-12 (14-2 in district) and reached the second round of the playoffs, falling to Ridge Point. Returning off that squad includes District 17-6A Setter MVP Logan LeRoux (975 assists). First-team, all-district picks Lauren Elie (451 digs, 214 kills, 40 aces) and Lyla Traylor (430 kills, 401 digs, 45 aces) are also big returners. Traylor led the team in kills and aces last season. Finally, Kingsley Wallace (Army-Commit) was named second-team, all-district a year ago and returns. During that season, Wallace had 200 kills and 71 blocks. This team will duke it out with Cy-Fair for the district crown. Those will be matches to watch.
