2024-25 Fort Bend Marshall Basketball
STATE OR BUST: No. 1 Fort Bend Marshall brings back their entire championship-caliber roster
1 -- FORT BEND MARSHALL BUFFALOES
They are back!
After back-to-back Regional Final appearances, the Fort Bend Marshall Buffs (35-3; 14-0 in district) have that look again under the direction of legendary coach Ronnie Courtney.
“The strength of our team is experience,” coach Ronnie Courtney said. “We have nine returners and four starters who have been to two Regional Finals. That gives us a chance to be really good. I don’t have to teach as much because everyone has been around the program. We have some tremendous leadership who know what I’m looking for.”
Back in the huddle are Kevin Sargeant, Eian Lowe, Armani Theus and Johnathan Walker, who all started last year.
Sargeant was all-state and the District Defensive MVP in 2024.
“When he talks, everyone listens,” Courtney said.
Other Buffs to look out for include Ryan Johnson, Harvey Baker, Braydan Cooper and Chase Crawford, who will all play expanded roles this season.
The kings of Class 5A Region III look to defend their crown and take it two steps further.

VYPE's Updated Basketball Rankings as district-play unfolds; Clements, College Park surging
With the mid-season point of the Winter season upon us, there have been several exciting developments in the outlook of H-Town hoops.
Both Fort Bend Clements and College Park have vastly surpassed their pre-season expectations, as both ascend into the top-10, with the Rangers in particular currently holding the No. 1 spot after a dominant start to the year.
However, perennial favorites -- Seven Lakes, Atascocita, and Shadow Creek -- are sure to keep the rest of Houston's finest on guard once the playoffs near.
Additionally, new challengers such as Tomball Memorial, Lake Creek, FB Elkins, and Cy Ranch are picking up speed with the district portion of their schedule taking place.
Given that information, it's time to examine our updated rankings.
