POWER OF THE PRIDE: No. 5 Lake Creek has something to prove this Fall
NO. 5 -- LAKE CREEK LIONS
Head Coach: Sheila Daniels
2023: 20-25/Area Finalists
LAKE CREEK GOT CAUGHT IN THE TRAFFIC JAM ON THE BACK END OF DISTRICT 21-5A A YEAR AGO.
However, they defeated Magnolia West in a play-in game, punching their ticket to the postseason prior to advancing to the Area Round.
Peyton McKee (Missouri State-commit) returns for her senior year after registering 201 kills and 242 digs, which led to her becoming a first-team, all-district selection.
Second-teamer Kansas Lamar was also big up front with 137 kills and 48 blocks along the net. Regan Krahn dominated on the net with a team-high 54 blocks, while Brooke Kelley led with 308 assists. Krahn and Kelley both earned an honorable mention, all-district nod.
Also watch for Addalyn Sessions (Sr. S), Taylor Woods (Jr. OH), and Kennedy Schramm (Sr. L).
Expect the Lions to make a comeback in 2024 and chase after their 2022-mark of reaching the UIL-5A State Tournament.

FEAR THE ROAR: What will No. 20 Lake Creek do for the encore?
THE LIONS ARE COMING OFF A HISTORIC SEASON IN 2022.
Lake Creek reached the UIL State Tournament for the first time in program history going 32-17 overall. Now, as they enter 2023, the Lions will be under new leadership as Sheila Daniels takes over the helm.
Peyton McKee returns as the leader in kills after registering 227 a year ago, followed up by Ashlynn Kilgore’s 202 kills. Emerson Caltabiano will play a larger role on the outside. Kennedy Schramm returns as the leader on defense with 305 digs in 2022. Sarah Caminita chipped in 203 digs as well.
The Lions will have to find a new setter in 2023 as Lauren Greene is gone due to graduation.
