VYPE U: Royal High School Valentines Win
On Friday, February 14th, the Royal High School ladies' soccer team had a big win over Rice Consolidated. The Lady Falcons have successfully made a comeback.
Placing the cherry on top of Valentine's Day with a win. Demonstrating their hard work out on the field, resulting in a final score of 3-1.
The goals scored at the game were done by Jessica Aguilar, Stephanie Arriaga, and Sarah Olazaron.
"Sometimes I feel like giving up," Stephanie, a junior, said. "Then I remember I have a lot of people to prove wrong."
The girls didn't give up, and pushed through and laid out their best for an excitable win for the girls on the soccer team, and for the fans watching.
"I think we are putting in a lot of effort and every time we play we give the best of ourselves out on the field," Ruby Anaya, a senior varsity player said. "Everyone tries their best and I think every time we do, we get better, and I hope the next season is better and we win more games."
The girls played the game, the way they know how to play, showing off their skills earned through practice, and showing the other team what they were made of.
The Lady Falcons now have a current record of 2-4.
"It's been a season of many ups and downs, but overall I feel that we have progressed so much as a team and as people," junior Jessica Aguilar said.
VYPE U: Royal's Undefeated Run
Since Royal High School has had a soccer team, they were thought to be good, but were they thought to be this good?
The Falcons Varsity soccer team currently has an undefeated record of 17-0 including their tournament win in Madisonville.
This year's soccer team is showing Brookshire what they're made of by winning games, and their team is playing like pros.
The team like all teams hasn't had it easy, with games with the score coming in close.
Taking in their most recent win against Fulshear, they beat Fulshear in penalties 5-4. Another school, Stafford, also made it pretty tough for the Falcons, with the final score of 3-2 by scoring in the last six seconds of the game.
The team wasn't always this good, but with good coaching the team has made improvements in their playing, that have made the team carve the path of greatness.
"Coach Perez is a good coach who has helped me improve both on and off the field. I wouldn't have gotten this good if it wasn't for him," sophomore Israel Barbosa said.
With skills and finesse the games they play are worth watching, giving the watchers all sorts of emotions as they watch the game.
This soccer season the team is giving it their all, putting their best selves out to play, and playing to win.
In district the team is currently 4-0, undefeated and they hope to be District Champions, even if for Brookshire they already are.
Their next game is tonight against Sealy. The team is currently going on a winning spree, and any team that come in their way will be on the receiving end of their goals.
