Red Oak Has A Bona Fide Star In Robinson
Red Oak was a team that took big steps last fall finishing the year with a 12-1 record, losing to the eventual State Champs Aledo in the third round.
A big piece to their success was 2026 4-star WR Brayden Robinson, who is one of the top recruits in the country with 30+ offers.
Robinson’s recruitment started his freshman year, picking up an offer from UIW. Now, the rising junior has 34 offers from the likes of Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, Texas and Ole Miss to name a few. So, what’s the recruiting process been like?
“First off, it’s just been a blessing to be in this position, doing what I’m doing,” Robinson said. “The recruiting process has been good right now. I'm just trying to take it slow and check out a couple schools.”
Robinson was up at Ohio State this weekend - one of the top programs in the country.
“It’s always fun getting to go to these big programs and having them recruit me," he said. "It’s honestly kind of crazy because a lot of people have always been doubting me and I’m putting the rest of the world on notice.”
Robinson had a solid sophomore year but was riddled by injury, which is tough on a young player, but he took away important lessons from the injuries.
“Sophomore year had a lot of ups and downs, honestly,” he said. “I was in and out with injuries and it really taught me the mental aspect of the game. We had a great year going undefeated in district, winning district and making it to the third round. I think we’re going to go farther this year.”
So, what’s in store for his upcoming junior year?
“We all grew up together and talked about being high level recruits and winning big," he said. "We did that last year and we’re looking to go farther next year and keep the program on the rise."
