It's time to continue VYPE Austin's 2019-2020 high school boys basketball coverage. Check out our preseason public school rankings.
UIL 5A-6A Top 10:
No. 1 Manor: The Mustangs won 28 games en route to their UIL 5A State Semifinal appearance in the 2018-2019 season, and have a notable trio in Jamal Shead, Augustine Arroyo and Anthony Joiner to make a return trip in the 2019-2020 campaign.
No. 2 Westlake: The Chaparrals won 33 games before losing in the UIL 6A Region IV Quarterfinal in the 2018-2019 season, and will lean on KJ Adams and Eain Mowat in their trek for a deeper finish in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 3 Austin Vandegrift: The Vipers only won 19 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region II Area Round during the 2018-2019 season, but can experience more success with a healthy Greg Brown playing with Gabe Rayer, Jake Hatch and Nolan Mylet in the 2019-2020 campaign.
No. 4 Austin LBJ: The Jaguars won 24 games before falling in the UIL 5A Region IV Area Round during the 2018-2019 season, but plan to lean on Jordan Teal, Antwan McMillian and Je'Sean Sibley to top those achievements in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 5 Austin Bowie: The Bulldogs won 22 games before reaching the UIL 6A Region IV Semifinal in the 2018-2019 season, and plan to have more late season success with upperclassmen Coleton Benson and Ethan Walker leading their 2019-2020 charge.

No. 6 Lake Travis: The Cavaliers won 33 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region IV Quarterfinal in the 2018-2019 season, and need big seasons from seniors John Wetter and Cade Parrett to match that in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 7 Cedar Park: The Timberwolves won 28 games and advanced to the UIL 5A Region III Quarterfinal in the 2018-2019 season, but need to surround notable duo Jacob Hester and Matthew Minor with additional weapons to replicate that success in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 8 Pflugerville Hendrickson: The Hawks won 24 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region II Area Round during the 2018-2019 season, and expect more from Jaden Williams and Kayden Crosby in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 9 Hutto: The Hippos won 22 games and advanced to the UIL 5A Region III Bi-district Round during the 2018-2019 season, and seniors Jean-Pierre Sanders and Xavier Patterson will help them top that in the 2019-2020 season.

No. 10 Pflugerville Connally: The Cougars won 26 games and advanced to the UIL 5A Region III Final during the 2018-2019 season, but need to find fitting talents to play off of Breion Powell and Ashten Mitchell to make a similar run in the 2019-2020 campaign.

UIL 5A-6A Top 10:
No. 1 San Antonio Wagner: The Thunderbirds won 34 games and advanced to the UIL 5A State Title Game during the 2018-2019 season, and will lean on Journee Phillips, Jasean Jackson and Demarcus Hendricks in their 2019-2020 run at the ultimate prize.
No. 2 San Antonio Brennan: The Bears won 26 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region IV Area Round during the 2018-2019 season, and will lean on a talented roster that includes Norman Beckford, Jaden Moore, Kyle Castille and Deon Williams in their chase for a deeper postseason appearance in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 3 Cibolo Steele: The Knights won 30 games and advanced to the UIL 6A state semifinal during the 2018-2019 season, and have the necessary senior class (Quincey Shepherd, Jackson Byas, Nick Moore and Chris Benson) to add another deep playoff appearance in the 2019-2020 campaign.
No. 4 Helotes O'Connor: The Panthers won 24 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region IV Area Round during the 2018-2019 season, and will follow the leadership of Adam Benhayoune, Isaac Orozco and Thomas Worrich in their 2019-2020 run at another multi-round playoff appearance.
No. 5 Converse Judson: The Rockets feature an experienced roster that includes Kyonte Holder, Mike Chandler and Amarea Bailey-Davis that helped them win 25 games and advance to the UIL 6A Region IV Bi-District Round during the 2018-2019 season, so they can improve upon those marks in the 2019-2020 campaign.
No. 6 Boerne Champion: The Chargers won 25 games and advanced to the UIL 5A Region IV Bi-District Round during the 2018-2019 season, and the returns of Parker Delay and Hunter Darling can help them top that in the 2019-2020 campaign.
No. 7 San Antonio Harlan: The Hawks made a splash when they won 22 games and advanced to the UIL 5A Region IV Area Round during their 2018-2019 inaugural varsity season, and still have notable players in Zarion Pitre, Elijah Lomas and Ja'Kobe Barkley to add another successful chapter in the 2019-2020 campaign.

No. 8 San Antonio Brandeis: The Broncos won 21 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region IV Bi-District Round during the 2018-2019 season, and can find more success in the 2019-2020 campaign because of returning players Kyle Schaefer and Tanner Brown.

No. 9 San Antonio Roosevelt: The Rough Riders won 24 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region IV Area Round during the 2018-2019 season, and will be in contention for a similar postseason result in the 2019-2020 campaign because of Rashod Owens and Corey Jackson.
No. 10 San Antonio Madison: The Mavericks won 21 games and advanced to the UIL 6A Region IV Bi-District Round during the 2018-2019 season, and can go further in the 2019-2020 postseason because of returning players Christian Vasquez and Keilon Johnson.
