It's time to add another banner to the wall.
On Saturday, The Woodlands Christian Academy dispatched Colleyville Covenant Christian with a dominating 68-50 victory to claim the program's sixth title overall.
TWCA has now won titles in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2018 and now 2020. The crown is the second for an impressive senior class led by Bakari LaStrap - VYPE's preseason No. 13-ranked boys hoops prospect in the city for the 2020 class.
LaStrap, who had 21 points in the title game, had a pair of viral dunks over the weekend. The first against John Paul II and then against Colleyville.

Looking to the younger stars on the team, sophomore Austin Benigni - who was ranked in the preseason as the fifth-best boys basketball prospect in Houston for the 2022 class by VYPE - will be a player to watch coming back in 2021.
In the State Semifinal, he poured in 23 points with five assists and went four of five from three-point range. He did that in just three quarters.

Heading into the season, The Woodlands Christian Academy was VYPE's No. 2 private school boys hoops team in the city and went 3-1 during the VYPE-Aldine ISD Holiday Hoops Classic and made the title game.
Since Tanner Field has taken over the program it has been now four-straight trips to the TAPPS Final Four and two state championships.
VYPE will have more later this week on TWCA's most recent state championship. Stay tuned for that!
