Zaiden LeCroy recently won the West TX/Panhandle Boys Public School Basketball Player of the Year fan poll. VYPE caught up with LeCroy for the 411 on the star from Levelland.
VYPE: How long have you been playing basketball and how did you get your start?
LeCroy: I have been playing since I could walk. My parents put up a goal so that I could shoot on.
VYPE: What is your favorite thing about basketball?
LeCroy: My favorite thing in basketball is the grind. People think it's a gift but in reality it's countless hours in the gym.
VYPE: Go-to pregame meal? Routine?
LeCroy: My pregame meal is spaghetti.
VYPE: Favorite subject in school?
LeCroy: My favorite subject is history.
VYPE: Who's the toughest player you've ever faced on the court?
LeCroy: The toughest player I've had to face is no one, because I do not want them to know they can get to me.
VYPE: Off the court, what is your favorite thing to do?
LeCroy: Off the court I like to play video games with my boys.
VYPE: In all of your years playing basketball, what is the one memory from the game you'll never forget?
LeCroy: My favorite memory is probably when Coach Bontrager didn't move me up for playoffs my freshman year because that motivates me every day to get better.
