6 -- BELLAIRE CARDINALS
Bruce Glover enters his 23rd season as Bellaire’s coach, which has included 20 consecutive playoff appearances– the most recent of which featured his team going 30-7 and advancing to the Regional Semis.
Star-power will be in ample supply on this year’s roster, beginning with none other than 5-star recruit Shelton Henderson. All eyes are on the Cardinals forward this winter, after committing to Duke.
He won’t be alone on the court, as Glover also brings back Anthony Edwards III (Sr. C), Kohlman Dutton (Sr. PG), Ejypt Gibbs (Sr. G/F), and Jaren Brown (Sr. F).
Given this team’s considerable depth, don’t be surprised if Bellaire has an even more extensive playoff run in the new year.

7 -- COLLEGE PARK CAVALIERS
Way up north sits College Park High School. The home of the Cavs and one of the most electric gyms in the city on a Friday night.
Coach Clifton McNeely is one of the best in the business and has a comprehensive team in 2024-25.
Coming off a 33-5 season and a district title, College Park returns some integral pieces, starting in the back-court with Aiden Buckmon and Ian Inman (Colorado-commit).
“We have great chemistry,” McNeely said. “That comes from those two. What I love about this team is that they don’t want to be in the gym... they need to be in the gym. They work on their craft.”
Their dynamic duo combined for over 30 points per game last year, and will also lean on Tyson Forrest, Robert Matthews and big-man Jacob Oman.
“Jacob is a true rim protector and can score inside,” McNeely said. “That opens up the floor for our guards. Tyson is going to step up after an injury last year and Robert will be our on-ball defender. Lookout for the third Buckmon to play here... Quintyn Buckmon is a freshman that will come off the bench for us.”
College Park is a State contender in Class 6A Region II. You heard it here first.

No. 11 — CLEAR BROOK WOLVERINES
Last season saw Clear Brook post a 15-17 record and reach the Bi-District round of the playoffs.
The Wolverines under third-year coach Mileka Loydrake (44-26) bring back plenty of firepower with five starters returning to the huddle as they seek a fourth-straight trip to the playoffs.
Texas A&M Commerce-commit Rezia Castillo returns this season after missing last year due to an ACL injury. This is a huge boost to the Wolverines as the two-time District MVP and All-Region selection is set to return.
UTEP-commit Chardel Terrell also returns after being a first-team, all-district pick.
Other key returners include first-team, all-district selection Kamryn McLaurin and Morgan Williams.
As Loydrake enters this season, the motto for her team is “F.O.C.U.S”.
