It’s Jack Farrell’s to lose.
After an 8-2 week, Farrell (Manor ISD PxP) picked up a game on most of the field, including his two closest competitors. He’s now forged a 3-game lead over this writer (Vandegrift) with Melvin Jones (Regents) a game further back heading into the final week of the regular season.
Unlike the previous two weeks in which most everyone picked largely the same winners, last week was different. While everyone picked the winner in five of last week’s 10 games, the other five were a jumbled bag, with comers and goers moving throughout the pack. And kudos to Adam Neuberger (Anderson), who had a week’s best mark of 9-1, missing a perfect mark only because of Austin High’s 3-point win over Bowie.
Well over half of this week’s final slate of 10 games are highly competitive, offering the field one last chance to make a move and one last chance to catch the frontrunner.
