2025 opened right where 2024 left off as Girls Basketball returned to the courts again with district play. Most of the teams in this week’s rankings stayed put as nearly everyone swept the opposition; everyone, that is, except #10 Bowie and #12 Lake Travis. Both the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Cavs dropped District 26-6A contests to Westlake, who climbed a spot as a result.
Nine teams enter the first full week of the new year with 20 wins already and a couple more are on the cusp of reaching that milestone. One of those teams on the edge is St. Dominic Savio as the Lady Eagles make their first appearance on the charts.
It’s a demolition derby from here on as the playoff races heat up in earnest.
