Grant Gunnell is now the man at Arizona.
The sophomore enters this spring as the perceived No. 1 quarterback for Kevin Sumlin - as Khalil Tate has graduated - and the Wildcats as they start spring football. Gunnell spoke to the media for the first time since arriving at the University of Arizona on Monday.
Gunnell played in five games last year as a true freshman passing for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns. Gunnell completed 65.2 percent of his passes with only one interception.
"It's been amazing, obviously getting to play early as a freshman, getting that beneficial early experience is huge for me," Gunnell told reporters in Arizona. "The school part has been great for me. I love the environment. Having my brother here has been awesome. It's been great."

Gunnell completed his high school career as one of the most prolific passers in the history of Texas high school football. Now, he will try and lead the Wildcats to their first bowl game appearance in the Sumlin era.
Sumlin also addressed the media and the quarterback competition, which he referred to Gunnell as the "leader in the clubhouse".
