WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Richards on top of girls' hoop world presented by T-Mobile
Cypress Ranch hooper Didi Richards was "Ms. Basketball" back in 2017, when she led the Mustangs to their first-ever state tournament.
She was a McDonald's All-American, the TABC Class 6A Player of the Year and the No. 16 ranked player as rated by ESPN.
Richards is now the talk of the town with a National Championship ring entering her junior season. As a sophomore, she was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and the NCAA Greensboro All-Region Team. She scored 15 points in the NCAA Final Four semis and had six assists in the final.
Entering her junior year, Richards will be the defensive stopper for coach Kim Mulkey and will be relied upon more for complimentary scoring. When not in Waco, she's watching her brother CJ, a junior at Cypress Creek, who hopes to lead the Cougars to a district title as a hybrid guard.
While she's a star on the basketball court, she's got bigger dreams. The 6-foot-1 guard wants to walk the runways of Milan and New York City as a model.
It was time to marry the game and I said, "Yeah, I do" 🔒❤️ pic.twitter.com/Ust0hdRYKq
