11 -- CYPRESS FALLS EAGLES
The Eagles went 26-5 over the course of their most recent season, and in the process, locked in their third straight district championship.
Their early exit from the playoffs is not indicative of how effective the group can be once they start cooking.
Two starters return for 10th-year head coach Richard Flores, along with a healthy mix of underclassmen who look to play bigger roles.
Senior guard JaVori Washington should continue to be the catalyst for Cy Falls, alongside fellow seniors Hunter Mayers, Brevin Flores and Nash Beard (So. PG).
Coach Flores will be preaching unity and toughness to his guys in 2025, as they prepare to continue on their tradition of maintained excellence.

No. 13 — LAKE CREEK LIONS
This season marks a new era of Lake Creek girls basketball as a new head coach takes over the sidelines. Brianna Taylor comes over from Georgetown to take over the Lions program. Taylor played her college ball at the University of Texas after playing her high school career at Dekaney High School. Taylor takes over a Lake Creek team that went 26-11 overall a year ago and 12-2 in district play to claim the top seed.
The Lions then used the momentum from the regular season to propel themselves to the Regional Quarterfinals of the playoffs. The bench is not bare for Taylor as she returns senior point guard and Texas A&M-commit Chaney Spencer to the huddle. Spencer was the District 21-5A MVP and an All-Region selection last season.
Other players to watch include Mak Golden (First-Team, All-District), Ava Anderson (Second- Team, All-District) and Bailey Burns (Honorable Mention All-District).

12 -- WESTFIELD MUSTANGS
The Westfield Mustangs will be playing for more than each other this season... they will be playing for coach Billy Goffney, who suffered a brain aneurysm in September.
Coach Rueben Stiff will be the interim coach this season to calm the waters.
“If the kids didn’t have anything to play for before, now they do,” Stiff said. “We are dedicating the season to Coach.”
The Mustangs will turn to big-man Jeremiah Cooper, among others.
“Jeremiah is a three-year starter, who is an all-around player,” he said. “He can control the paint and dominate on offense.”
Jayvion Mitchell comes over from Legacy Sports Science and will also provide scoring, while Jordan Francis will run the offense from the PG spot.
Kameron Lewis is a lethal three-point shooter, while Jacob Massie will also play a bigger role as a senior.
“What we’ve always been known for is our defense, of course,” Stiff said. “We are going to be up-tempo on offense and play that ‘Ella Boulevard’ defense.”
