No. 1 -- Pearland Oilers
2023: 38-7-1 (District 23-6A Champions/State Finalist)
The Oilers are coming off a phenomenal season in which they advanced to the UIL championship game, before narrowly falling 6-4 to Flower Mound.
Given how close Pearland came to gold, you can bet that the GHBCA Coach of the Year David Rogers and company will be gunning for all the marbles.
Several key players return for the Oilers, including the co-district MVP Nico Partida (Arizona State-commit), and all-district honorees Ryler Smart (Tennessee), Jaden Barfield (Oklahoma) and Cade Adams (Southern Mississippi).
Don’t sleep on Jake Mader-Cooper (Rice) and Isaiah Castaneda (Rice), who toe the rubber and patrol the outfield, respectively.
While others may have graduated, Pearland still hosts one of the most complete rosters and remains the team to beat in H-Town.
