HOOPS PREVIEW: Byron Nelson Lady Bobcats geared up for greatness

As Texas high school hoops preseason kicks off around the state, eyes are on some of the top programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Plenty of teams are using the preseason to gear up and battle test themselves before district play commences. At Trophy Club Byron Nelson, the Lady Bobcats are pushing through every moment to improve off of last year's season. VYPE DFW dives into just what fans can expect out of Byron Nelson this season.

A Look Back

Last season, Byron Nelson continued to rebuild as they played in tough matches. Posting an 11-17 overall record (3-8 in district play), the Lady Bobcats worked hard to not only sharpen their skills on the court, but build relationships off the court that would allow the athletes to communicate effectively in game. Securing big victories over the likes of Flower Mound Marcus, Seguin, Palo Duro, Keller Central, V.R. Eaton, and more, the Lady Bobcats were able to make big plays throughout the season. Despite not making the playoffs, Byron Nelson had moments to be proud of.

2022-23

Byron Nelson has been working hard this preseason to shape a team that is ready to face their district opponents. Posting a rollercoaster record through preseason play so far, the Lady Bobcats have had great wins over Burleson, Austin Westlake, Arlington Seguin, Burleson Centennial, and Flower Mound Marcus. The team has outscored their opponents by nearly 70 points during preseason play.

With only a tournament ahead and two more non-district games, fans can expect to see the Lady Bobcats work on ramping up their defense in high intensity moments. Byron Nelson's offense has shown their ability to come in and score when necessary to keep hope alive and can be expected to continue to play hard each game. Through district play, fans can expect to see a team that has used the preseason to polish up; entering the court against district opponents fired up.

Check out the team as they play in an upcoming tournament on December 1st then two home games against Denton Braswell (12/6) and Denison (12/9).
