Byron Nelson volleyball dominates their way to a playoff spot
The Byron Nelson Lady Bobcats are back on top this season after posting a less-than-ideal district record last season. The team won the state title in the 2019-2020 season, finished second in their district in the 2020-21 season, posted a 3-9 district record last season, and learned from every moment over the last few seasons. With a fire in their heart to rebuild and get right back to their usual dominance, Byron Nelson is headed back to playoffs. What has their season looked like? What can fans expect heading into playoffs? VYPE DFW takes a deeper dive:
Regular Season
This season, the Lady Bobcats have posted a 36-5 overall record with a 10-4 district record to finish second in their district- just behind a strong Keller team. The Lady Bobcats opened the season 10-straight victories against competitive opponents in non-district matchups; seven of those victories were shut-out wins. Throughout the regular season, Byron Nelson has dropped only 28 sets while winning over 100. The team has remained strong while defeating the likes of Weatherford, Austin Vandegrift, Rockwall, Haltom, Southlake Carroll, V.R. Eaton, and more. Led by Sydnee Peterson, Samantha Hoppes, Morgan Inemer, Kylie Kleckner, Nora Conway, Campbell Love, and more, the Lady Bobcats have been nearly unstoppable as they record victory after victory and keep their eyes on the prize.
Looking Ahead
To say the team is ready for playoffs would be an understatement. Byron Nelson volleyball is one team that fans can guarantee are always ready for anything that is in front of them. With the desire to get back to the state tournament, fans can expect Byron Nelson to play hard and treat each game as if they are back on the court in Carrollton vying for the state title. Focused, strong, and ready to reclaim their place at the top of the rankings. Expect the team to come in to the playoffs fast-paced!
