The first week of the girls playoffs is in the books while the boys playoffs awaited tie-breakers to decide final playoff positions. We're going to look ahead at the forthcoming week of DFW playoff hoops action.
GIRLS REGIONAL QUARTERFINALS
6A
The top portion of the 6A Region I bracket might be the best in all of the state as the last four teams remaining are all state ranked. One matchup features No. 4 Arlington Martin (34-4) vs. No. 11 Hurst Bell (31-3). The other? It just so happens to be a 1-v-2 showdown as No. 1 Duncanville (35-3) takes on No. 2 DeSoto (33-2). Oh, and the bottom part of Region I just so happens to have No. 7 South Grand Prairie (34-4) taking on No. 13 Cedar Hill (29-9).
In Region II No. 17 Garland Sachse (29-6) takes on Plano (31-4), and Killeen Harker Heights faces McKinney (19-12).
All of these games are on Tuesday night.

BOYS BI-DISTRICT
6A
It'll be the second time this year that No. 1 Duncanville will play ranked South Grand Prairie (No. 16) at Mansfield Legacy. The first time was in the Whataburger Tournament Orange Division Championship with Duncanville walking away with a 70-51 win. This time will be in the opening round of the playoffs as Duncanville looks to repeat as 6A state champs.
5A
While the DFW area doesn't have any Top 25 matchups like 6A provides, it does offer up one game with two, 20-plus-win teams in Colleyville Heritage (22-10) vs. The Colony (24-9). The Colony enters having won its last game by 30 points while Heritage saw its 10-game win streak snapped in the regular season finale.
