THE SPOTS
Lake Travis (Austin) – As anyone where their favorite Texas watering hole is from Houston to Abilene, and the answer is always the same – Lake Travis. Come here to go boating, swim, picnic, camp and zip-line. It has a large variety of fish making it the perfect fishing destination. And the views...
Canyon Lake (Hill Country) - The biggest sleeper in the state is Canyon Lake, recognized as "The Jewel" of the Texas Hill Country. Its location on the Guadalupe River, makes it a great place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Canyon Lake is known for water recreation. There is outdoor recreation, including hiking trails and parks. It has eight park areas for people to camp, swim, boat, and picnic. Bank fishing is also available in all of these parks.
Lake Conroe (Conroe) - A great 21,000-acre lake in Montgomery County in East Texas. It is a popular place for boating, fishing, swimming, etc. It also has an assortment of golf courses. The lake runs through the evergreen forests of Sam Houston National Forest. Lake Buchanan (Austin) - As the second largest of the central Texas' Highland Lakes, it is a great lake for birdwatching, fishing, swimming, sunbathing, etc. It is location 60 miles to the northwest of Austin. Others hotspots include Lake Livingston, Lake Texoma, Possum Kingdom Lake and Lake LBJ throughout the state.
Quest ATX (Austin) - This 130-acre park allows six riders to be pulled around the lake at one time. Quest ATX has a variety of rails, jumps and obstacles. In addition, summer camps for kids are scheduled throughout the season. This park is a great destination for the family.
BSR Cable Park (Waco) - BSR Cable Park was named "Cable Park of the Year" in 2013 and has everything you need to learn how to wakeboard or improve your wakeboarding skills. The lake is 12 acres and the main cable has six towers around an island. The park also has cabins for rent, making it a great vacation destination. It even has the longest lazy river the United States.
Wake Nation (Houston) - Wake Nation offers wakeboarding, waterskiing, kneeboarding, wakeskating, swimming, birthday parties, lessons and summer camps. With a 5 tower clock-wise running cable on a 12-acre lake, up to six riders at a time can wakeboard, water ski, kneeboard or wakeskate. They also have a Practice Cable for beginners.
