It was a pretty intense weekend of football as the Katy vs Tompkins game got things going, headlining the slate.
The Falcons hung tough before falling to Katy... then we all know what happened after that. But the takeaway is that Tompkins is very good.
The Klein Oak Panthers are for real also, beating District 15-6A bully Klein Collins. Conroe is in full flex-mode as one of the biggest surprises in the early season. Klein Cain took down The Woodlands for coach James Clancy's program's signature win.
The Dawson Eagles showed who is boss down south, beating Top 5 Pearland, while Dobie and Mayde Creek are making history in a good way.
In Class 5A, Hightower and Porter rejoin the Top 10. The Hurricanes smashed Top 10 Angleton.
