THE WRAP: Episcopal dominates 2024 Winter SPC Championships
The road to the Southwest Preparatory Conference titles came through Houston this Winter and Episcopal showed its dominance.
The Knights won boys and girls basketball titles, and boys and girls soccer to headline the weekend.
Here is what happened over the two-day event.

BASKETBALL
On the hardwood, Episcopal looked every bit as dominant as they've been all season. The Knights brought their A-game against St. Mark's, as George Mason-commit Justin Begg contributed 21 points, while Jakeel Registe scored 18. Breylan Thompson also had a strong performance. This would help lead EHS to a 62-55 win over the Lions, which would mark the team's second SPC-4A Championship in the past three seasons.
In SPC-3A, fans were in for a treat as St. Andrew's and John Cooper provided a back-and-forth matchup that came down to the wire. The Highlanders -- led by Solomon Marshall, Coleman Elkins and Brandon Barker -- would ultimately emerge victorious against the No. 1 seed Dragons, 63-61, to claim the program's first-ever SPC title.

Episcopal would show their mettle on the girls' side as well. Florida-signee Me'Arah O'Neal bolstered the Knights' attack with a hefty 28-point showing on the night, coupled with another impressive performance by senior Emrie Holt and freshman Rylee Poindexter. Despite their effort for a fourth quarter comeback, EHS ran away with a definitive 66-54 victory over Kinkaid, adding another trophy to the school's crowded display case.
Fort Worth Country Day would knock off St. Andrew's in the finals of the 3A tournament.

SOCCER
Episcopal's hot-streak also extended to the pitch, as both the boys' and girls' walked away with SPC trophies. The boys defeated Awty International 2-1, while the girls would claim the title with a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Hockaday.
In 3A, Cistercian took the boys title, while Trinity Valley took home gold for the girls.

SWIMMING
St. Mark's boys capped off a brilliant season with title on the 4A Swimming and Diving Championship, while Greenhill was the Class 3A champion. For the girls, Greenhill won the 4A title and Awty won the girls meet.
WRESTLING
How about St. John's, who continues to dominate on the mat, winning yet another SPC Championship? The Mavs took down St. Mark's in the finals.
