Arkansas and Texas A&M both travel to the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Saturday to face off at Jerry's World in Arlington, Texas. Fans that attend the game might see some familiar faces returning to the DFW area on Saturday afternoon.
Arkansas Razorbacks Jalen Catalon, DB - Mansfield Legacy Coming out of high school, Catalon was a four-star prospect ranked as the No. 20th safety in the nation by Rivals. According to 247Sports, Catalon was rated 29th overall in the country. As a four-year varsity letterman, Catalon helped lead Mansfield Legacy by playing key roles on both sides of the ball. In 2017, Catalon played both safety and quarterback roles for the Broncos where he passed for over 1,000 yards and tallied 15 touchdowns while also rushing for over 1,000 yards with 13 touchdowns. Defensively, Catalon tallied 101 tackles (70 solo, six for a loss), brought in three interceptions, forced six fumbles, and recovered six fumbles.
▲ Kendall Catalon, WR - Mansfield Legacy Catalon, another key player for the Mansfield Legacy Broncos, made huge plays while on the field. Catalon totaled 3,944 passing yards and 66 passing touchdowns while in the pocket for the Broncos. Running the ball, Catalon racked up over 2,200 yards and tallied 24 touchdowns throughout his high school career. As a senior, Catalon passed for over 1,700 yards and rushed for over 1,000. Before joining the Razorbacks, he played two seasons at Southern University in Baton Rouge.
▲ John Stephen Jones, QB - Highland Park Grandson of Jerry Jones himself, this will be a grand homecoming for John Stephen Jones. Rated as a three-star prospect coming out of high school, Jones completed 505 out of 777 passes for the Highland Park Scots. Jones passed for nearly 8,000 yards and 90 touchdowns. On the carry, Jones kept the ball 265 times for a total of 674 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns. During his senior year, Jones helped lead the Scots to their second-straight state championship title finishing the season with 5,200 yards, 71 touchdowns, the District 15-5A MVP title, an all-state honorable mention, and the 2017 Landry Award.
▲ Bumper Pool, LB - Lucas Lovejoy Bumper Pool was a four-star recruit out of high school and the No. 12 inside linebacker in the state according to a 247Sports Composite. During his high school career at Lovejoy, Pool racked up more than 300 tackles. As a senior, 166 of those tackles were made (108 solo, 14 for a loss). During his senior year, Pool broke up four passes, forced three fumbles, brought in three interceptions, and blocked one PAT. Not only strong on the defensive side, Pool was used in the wildcat role for Lovejoy where he scored six times.
▲ Jaedon Wilson, WR - DeSoto A three-star prospect out of high school and the No. 96 wide receiver in his class according to 247Sports, Wilson played as a wide receiver. As a senior, Wilson tallied 488 yards and eight touchdowns on 25 catches. Wilson, a captain in his senior year of high school, totaled nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns on 90 catches.
▲ Hudson Clark, DB - Highland Park A four-year letterman at Highland Park, Clark helped lead Highland Park to three state championships. During his senior season, Clark helped to lead the Scots to a 16-0 unblemished record as a senior captain and a third-straight state title. As a senior, Clark tallied 40 tackles (31 solo, three for a loss) and nine interceptions. During his time with the Scots, Clark tallied 77 solo tackles and 10 interceptions.
▲ Kade Renfro, QB - Stephenville A three-star recruit out of high school, Renfro spent his first year at Ole Miss, but did not appear in any games. As a senior with Stephenville, Renfro passed for over 2,300 yards and racked up 17 passing touchdowns while completing 59% of his passes. On the ground, Renfro carried the ball 91 time for 211 yards. During his high school career, Renfro threw for nearly 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns.
▲ Dominique Johnson, RB - Crowley Johnson came out of high school as a three-star prospect. As a senior, Johnson helped lead Crowley to a 9-2 record that included a first-round 5A playoff appearance. During his high school career, Johnson rushed for over 1,100 yards on 225 carries. Johnson scored 15 touchdowns with Crowley.
▲ Chase Lowery, DB - Frisco A three-star prospect coming out of high school and the No. 42 cornerback in his class according to 247Sports, Lowery played on both sides of the ball with Frisco. During his senior year, Lowery tallied 403 receivign yards on 14 catches with two touchdowns. Defensively, Lowery made 26 tackles, four interceptions, one pass broken up, one fumble recovery, and one forced fumble.
▲ Taurean Carter, DL - Mansfield Legacy A three-star recruit out of high school and rated as the No. 51 overall in the state of Texas by 247Sports, Carter was a four-year letterman with Mansfield Legacy. Carter tallied 28 total tackles (eight for a loss), four sacks, 15 quarterback hurries, and a forced fumble in 2018. As a junior, Carter helped lead the Broncos to a 10-3 record and a state semifinals berth.
