It's a rematch of the ages as Celina and Midlothian Heritage prepare to go head-to-head in the UIL Class 4A Girls Soccer State Championship match. Both teams have put in the effort to get here and are reaping the benefits. VYPE DFW breaks down what Lady Bobcats and Lady Jags fans can expect heading into the championship game Thursday afternoon.

Celina Lady Bobcats (28-1-1, 14-0)

The Celina Lady Bobcats made it back to the state tournament after losing to Midlothian Heritage in the state semifinals last season. With a 95% winning percentage, the Lady Bobcats have gone above and beyond this season both offensively and defensively.

This season, the Lady Bobcats have outscored their opponents 180-17. Throughout the entirety of playoffs, they have allowed only one goal- in an early postseason game against Athens where the Lady Bobcats posted a 7-1 victory. Not only are the Lady Bobcats headed into the state finals on a 20 game win-streak, but they are on a five game shut-out streak.

Midlothian Heritage Lady Jaguars (22-3-3, 12-0)

The reigning state champions are back at the highest level of Texas high school soccer. Coming into the game, the team has posted an incredibly strong season. Through post season play, the offense has been able to shine bright against their opponents. With the ability to set the tone of their games and hold strong, the Lady Jaguars are a tough opponent.

During the Regional and State tournament so far, the Lady Jaguars have outscored their opponents 11-2. The team is out to win another state title and can be expected to play hard against a Celina team that they've seen in this tournament before.

Celina is a team that can build off of the energy of the other team. This season, they were hungry to get right back to where they were. Not only did they accomplish it, but they surpassed it. Fans can certainly expect the best out of the Lady Bobcats on Thursday afternoon.

Midlothian Heritage is no stranger to the state championships. They have strong athletes who are willing to play aggressive and get exactly what they want. Fans can expect the team to be physical on Thursday afternoon as they pursue another championship.

The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14th at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown, Texas.
