RECRUIT SCOOP: Atascocita ATH Cardae Mack Talks Big Recruiting Offseason
Atascocita’s Cardae Mack first emerged in his sophomore year last season.
After watching Mack dice up State Power Katy in a non-district matchup, it was easy to see the talented RB has a bright future ahead of him.
Now going into his Junior offseason, Mack is one of the most sought after recruits in the state holding 17 offers from Division 1 programs.
I caught up with Mack about his recruitment, who’s standing out, his junior year and what his timeline is looking like.
…
As a Junior this past fall Mack was thrown in at the QB position to keep his dynamic play on the field while also having Oklahoma-Signee Tory Blaylock in the backfield.
Mack ended up with 1,864 passing yard with 18 passing touchdowns while rushing for 1,918 yards with 22 touchdowns. For Mack he was all about doing what the team needed to win.
“I feel like my Junior year was great,” Mack said. “Playing quarterback was definitely an adjustment especially after the Katy game, but then I realized hey this is like playing running back, I can just throw the ball.”
As he has now entered his Junior offseason the heat is on as far as his recruitment goes with many school’s vying to get the star athlete on campus for an official visit.
“It’s just felt like a lot more love from all the school’s,” he said. “My biggest thing is relationships. What’ve programs have built the best relationships with me are the ones I’m rocking with.”
Among the school’s going after Mack he mentioned 6 school’s that have stood out early.
“Texas Tech, Oregon, Arizona State, Stanford, Ole Miss, and Houston are all school’s that have stood out so far. All those school’s feel bought into me and have sat down watched my film and how they would use my game in their program.”
As February come and official visit season slowly approaches, Mack mentioned he plans on starting to set up OV’s to Oregon, Arizona State, Texas Tech and Houston in the near future with a timeline of committing before his Senior year.
Cardae Mack is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the State of Texas and with his Senior year coming expect a big final encore.
“I’m coming for it all this year,” Mack said. “I want to bring a State championship back to the A, whether its at running back or quarterback I want to do my part to get us to Jerry’s World.”
