Sachse volleyball has been building a program that is nearly unstoppable over most recent seasons. Last year, the team posted a 35-11 overall record while posting an undefeated 16-0 district record and a playoff run that ended in a hard-fought battle against a tough Rockwall team. This season, the team is looking to finish on top of their district standings for the third consecutive season. VYPE DFW takes a look at what has happened so far for the Lady Mustangs.
So Far
After opening their season with a 3-1 loss to Rockwall-Heath, Sachse turned it right around for six-straight victories (four of which were sweeps) over Frisco Heritage, Henderson, El Paso Eastlake, Dallas Wilson, Richardson, and Forney. Through a tough stretch of non-district opponents, the Lady Mustangs didn't see another victory until an August 18th victory over Decatur got them back on track. With more non-district victories over the likes of Leander Glenn, San Antonio Clark, Prosper Walnut Grove, Austin Lake Travis, and more, the Lady Mustangs finished non-district play with a 14-11 overall record.
Through district play, athletes like Sakiah Logan, Kate Romo, Kaelynn Sims, Cate Tempelmeyer, Alivia Rainey, Abigail Jesmer, Taber Torres, Favor Anyanwu, Scarlette Young, Makaelah Anesi, and more have helped Sachse have powerful moments over their opponents. With victories over Garland Naaman Forest, Garland, Rowlett, South Garland, Wylie East, and more, this squad has posted 10 sweeps in district play with 11 district victories total.
What's Ahead
The Lady Mustangs travel to Garland on Friday, October 13th for a second meeting with Garland (who they previously swept in September). From there, Sachse stays on the road for a match-up against Rowlett before returning home to close out the regular season with matches against South Garland and Wylie East.
This team is prepared to close out their regular season on a high note. Looking to leave their mark on the court during each game, fans can expect the Lady Mustangs to finish at the top of their district again with a strong playoff push. Be sure you catch these ladies in action!
