THE WRAP: TWHS, Keller dominate at UIL State Swim Meet
The most elite swimmers in the state traveled to Austin this past weekend to compete in UIL State Swim Meet, which took place in the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center at the University of Texas.
On girls' side, The Woodlands took their second-straight Class 6A state title in stifling fashion. Bolstered by their key finishes in the relays , the Lady Highlanders would ultimately claim gold with a composite score of 269.5 points, followed closely by Southlake Carroll (263.5), Keller (253), Westlake (112), Kingwood (111), and Cy-Fair.
Frisco Reedy claimed the Class 5A title with a clutch performance that resulted in 194 total points, with Fulshear (191), Boerne Champion (164), and Friendswood (144) trailing shortly after.
Keller was utterly dominant on the boys' side, as they cruised to a Class 6A championship with an astounding 312.5-point score, with Southlake Carroll once again following close-by (208), along with The Woodlands (191), Kingwood (112), Vandegrift (106), Prosper (99), and Seven Lakes (98).
In Class 5A, Georgetown took the crown with a total score of 197 points, while Friendswood (183), Lubbock (145), Frisco Heritage (126), and Fort Bend Kempner (122.5) in tow.

VYPE U: Soaked in Red & Green
On Tuesday, September 9 at 5:30 PM, The Woodlands Swimming and Diving Team held their annul Red and Green Meet at the CISD Natatorium to prepare for their upcoming season. It was also Senior night, where 22 seniors were recognized by walking down a line of teammates and being photographed with their parents. All the attendees were required to wear masks and socially distance in the stands.
The Woodlands uses this friendly competitive competition among teammates to prepare the swimmers and divers for the season. The team is divided in half into the red and green teams, and are graded upon their scores, times, and spirit. The winning team receives bragging rights for the entire year. Their next meet is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 5:30 PM at the CISD Natatorium, where they will be competing against their closest rivals, College Park and Oak Ridge.
