SHARK WARNING: No. 15 Shadow Creek primed to surge with veteran leadership

NO. 15 -- SHADOW CREEK SHARKS

Head Coach: Whitney Daniel

2023: 24-19/Bi-District Finalists

SHADOW CREEK IS COMING OFF A 24-WIN SEASON, WHICH UNFORTUNATELY CAME TO AN END IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS.

They did that with a rather young team, making the sky the limit in 2024 as the Whitney Daniel-led Sharks build on that experience.

Aspen Brown and Tamarria Mitchell are both coming off phenomenal freshman seasons. Brown and Mitchell led the team with 416 and 347 kills, respectively.

Brown, in particular, was named the District 23-6A Newcomer of the Year for her efforts, while Mitchell was first-team, all-district. Kelly Kelsick, a first-team, all-district pick, chipped in 290 kills.

However, the most interesting development for this team is the addition of Mackenzie Collins (Texas A&M-commit). The dual-sport phenom moves over from Episcopal, where she earned All-SPC honors in 2023, and will automatically boost Shadow Creek.

On the defensive side, Brown had 75 blocks, while Kennedy Proctor, a second-team, all-district pick, had 63. First-team, all-district selection Lauryn Wiley led the Sharks with 473 digs and Kelsick finished right behind with 427 of her one, while Simone Robinson had 385 digs.

Robinson also had a team-leading 1,047 assists and was named the District 23-6A co-Setter of the Year. The Sharks have a solid and young core of talent that they can build around for years to come.

Here is your Shark warning for the 2024 season. Beware.
