REWIND
After winning a state championship in 2021, Stephenville got off to an incredible start last season in preseason play. Defeating the likes of Midlothian Heritage (49-42), Everman (62-61), Decatur (52-34), and more, the Yellow Jackets entered district play undefeated. Posting victories over Life Waxahachie (63-20) and Waco La Vega (42-28), Stephenville had a rough 2-2 record in district play.
Making the cut for playoffs, the Yellow Jackets sent Fort Worth Dunbar packing in a 56-20 victory before dropping a close, hard-fought 33-32 second-round playoff game against a tough Anna squad.
LOOKING AHEAD
Seeing the return of Bryson Powell, Devin Zipp, Tyler Traweek, Coy Eakin, Hyson Foreman, Ben Kirbo, Camden McKinney, and more, the Yellow Jackets are ready to get the ball rolling this season. The team will look to their summer practices and scrimmages for lessons on and off the field. Typically high in gameday knowledge, the Yellow Jackets are quick on their feet and quick to bounce back through any adversity.
Stephenville opens non-district play at home against Midlothian Heritage on August 25th where they can be expected to have a strong start. They will go on to face Everman, Decatur, Abilene Wylie, Wichita Falls Rider, and Brownwood in the preseason before opening district play on the road against Life Waxahachie on October 13th. Fans can expect this team to put up a tough fight this season for a deep playoff run.
