The Northwest Texans are looking towards another great season on the diamond this year. With success following them around every corner, Northwest baseball is ready for anything that's headed their way. VYPE DFW takes a look at last season and dives into what fans can expect from Texans baseball this spring!
Rewind
Last season, the Texans played incredibly. With a 16-13-1 overall record (9-5 in district play) the Texans made a strong playoffs push before eventually falling to Mansfield Legacy in the third round of the UIL playoffs. Through preseason play the team sharpened their skills and remained focused; learning from every moment to ensure success in district play. Once the team opened up their district schedule, there was no looking back. Posting convincing victories over Grapevine, Lake Dallas, Richland, Denton, Colleyville Heritage, and more, the team waltzed into playoffs ready to give it everything they had. With a deep playoff run, the Texans had everything to be proud of last season.
The Season Ahead
With the offseason quickly coming to an end, the Texans are geared up and ready to take on their opponents this spring. As sharp as ever, Northwest will look to have one of their strongest preseason starts as they open their season at home against Keller Central in a tournament on Thursday, February 23rd. The team will continue through preseason play until district begins in mid March. Facing off against tough area opponents shouldn't be an issue for the Texans as they typically play like seasoned veterans.
With great leadership and minds for the game, the Texans can be expected to make another campaign towards playoffs. Be sure you make it out to Justin to watch the Texans give it their all this season!
