No. 4--Pearland Oilers Softball
2022: 32-10 (Regional Finalists)
HC: Laneigh Clark
The Oilers reached the Regional Finals last season for the first time in six seasons. Eight starters return off that squad, making Pearland a legit threat to make a run at returning to Austin for the first time since 2016.
Laneigh Clark leads this squad and is a legend with 753 career wins entering this season and 647 coming at Pearland.
Texas A&M-commit, NFCA-All-American, and All-State selection Hailey Golden leads the group of eight returners.
Abigail Gutierrez (UT-Arlington) is the ace of the squad after posting a 0.96 ERA and 14-1 record with 119 strikeouts a year ago.
Other names to remember include Gabbie Roundtree (CBU), Kristyn Whitlock (Sam Houston), Darian De Leon (Blinn), and Kennedy Drafton (Eastern Kentucky). Watch out for Jordan Smith, Class of 2025, who could break out this year.
The key to success for Clark is to “Build on the 2022 run."
