VYPE HOU Volleyball Rankings entering second round of District; Pearland surges into 6A Top-3

As we make our way toward the back half of each team's respective district schedule, it's becoming more evident who the Space City's top contenders will be.

One of the most welcome surprises over the past couple of weeks has been the re-emergence of Pearland, who are coming off a five-set statement win against Fulshear.

That's not meant to be a slight against the Chargers, because they are, without a doubt, still going to be one to fear come playoff time.

Meanwhile, a highly anticipated matchup this week featuring Grand Oaks and The Woodlands could potentially shake things up.

Outside of the Top-10, Dawson, Oak Ridge, Tompkins, and Tomball Memorial will look to climb the charts as they prepare to take on some well-known opponents.

Don't sleep on Katy Taylor, either. They've battled with the best of them in the relentless District 19-6A.

Furthermore, Friendswood continues to dominate in Class 5A, with Lake Creek, Barbers Hill, Montgomery, and West Fork in hot pursuit, while LSA, St. Agnes, and FBCA headline the private school sector.

Given that brief synopsis, it's time to examine the updated list of Houston-area programs who have made considerable strides during their most recent face-offs.
