Rivals Woodlands and Oak Ridge Girls Varsity Soccer went head to head on Tuesday night at The Woodlands High School for the first game of district play. The game was a back and forth affair between with the crowd going wild the whole time. Woodland's Courntey Koehler was the first to score a goal for the Lady Highlanders in the first half of the game. Not too long following a Lady War Eagles goal, Woodlands's Samone Knight returned the lead back to the Lady Highlanders. After a collection of fouls, the Lady War Eagles gained a goalie kick which tied the teams once again. With only 15 minutes left in the game Gracie Britten scored the final goal of the night, earning the Lady Highlanders their first district win. The final score was 3-2 and despite the cold temperature, the girls left everything out on the field.
