Having not allowed a single goal in the playoffs, the Frisco Wakeland Lady Wolverines are ready to pack a punch as they head into the UIL State Tournament. VYPE DFW takes a look at their season so far:
So Far This Season
With several strong victories in non-district play, the team challenged themselves to take down as many opponents as possible while showcasing their ability to have fun on the field. One of the most fun teams to watch in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the Lady Wolverines defeated Coppell (3-0), Weiss (4-0), Keller Central (4-3), and more in their preseason schedule before opening up district play against tough opponents.
With an undefeated district record (13-0-1), athletes like Audrey Gilbert, Morgan Landry, Dayleigh Bos, Dilan Pistorius, Brooklynn Freeman, and others posted several convincing victories throughout the regular season including over Frisco Reedy (2-0), Carrollton Newman Smith (9-1), Frisco Lone Star (4-0), Carrollton R.L. Turner (7-0), Carrollton Creekview (6-0), and more. Steady and focused, the team allowed only five goals in district play while scoring 66 goals against their district opponents to finish at the top of their standings and head into playoffs ready to get the job done.
Once in the playoffs, the team never hesitated to do good work while having fun. Leaving each playoff opponent scoreless, the team defeated Lebanon Trail, Dallas White, Prosper Walnut Grove, Lucas Lovejoy, and Frisco Reedy before punching their ticket to the state tournament.
What to Expect
Ready to face-off against Pflugerville Hendrickson, the Lady Wolverines should have no problem taking on a challenge. Already knowing what it takes to get to the next round, fans can expect this squad to play relentlessly as they step onto the field in Georgetown.
