Mark helped guide the Gators to the program's first state tournament berth since 1955 this past year. In 36 games played, Mark averaged an impressive 29.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season.
"Just a great award for a great individual," Dickinson head coach Jason Wilson said. "He's a great player. Just this year his group of seniors set the goal to get to state and they did that with Tramon at the helm of it and his teammates helped him achieve this award. I'm excited for his future and playing for Coach [Kelvin] Sampson and the UH Cougars."
In winning the award, Mark joins previous winners; Klein Forest's Kharee McDaniel (2019), College Park's Quentin Grimes (2018), Cypress Falls' Nigel Hawkins (2017), Cypress Lakes' De'Aaron Fox (2016), Westbury Christian's Galen Robinson (2015), St. John's Justise Winslow (2014), Fort Bend Travis' Aaron Harrison (2013) and Strake Jesuit's Rasheed Sulaimon (2012).
"Those are big names around the Houston basketball community," Mark said. "So, for me to join those guys and I'm going to be playing with [Quentin Grimes] next year. It's a big deal."
The Guy V. Lewis Award starts with a watch list of 50, then pared down to 25 and then eventually to the Top 10.
The Top 10 finalists this year included Morton Ranch's LJ Cryer, Westbury Christian's Ja'Vier Francis, Fort Bend Hightower's Bryce Griggs, Crosby's PJ Haggerty, Fort Bend Travis' Justin Hill, La Marque's Jordan Ivy-Curry, Jack Yates' Rubin Jones, Episcopal's Jahari Long and Shadow Creek's Ramon Walker.
