GAME PREVIEW: Jacksboro heads to Peaster
Week three is looking toward some tough action far and wide in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. One of the smaller school's fans want to keep their eyes on this season includes the Peaster Greyhounds. This week, Peaster hosts a second-straight home game, this tmie against Jacksboro. VYPE DFW dives into what fans can expect from these two squads:
Jacksboro Tigers (2-0)
Jacksboro is traveling to Peaster on Friday night looking to continue a hot streak. Putting forth incredible effort already this season, Jacksboro has posted big wins over Breckenridge (57-35) and Boyd (48-45). Riding a high and building off of the strength of previous seasons, the Tigers are bound and determined to continue putting Ws on the board against their non-district opponents.
Led by the likes of Lando Belcher, Cannon Valenzuela, Eric Pizana, Luke Sams, Kaleem Howard, Tyler Mitchell, Ace Walker, Kasey Swan, Hunter Moffit, Jett Davenport, Braxton Brunk, Wade Treadway, and more, this team is built up of athletes who know how to get the ball moving. More than that, the defense holds strong in big moments against their opponents. Jacksboro will look to stop Peaster on Friday.
Peaster Greyhounds (1-1)
Peaster is one of the teams to watch this season. Despite a disappointing 49-9 season-opening loss against Tolar, the Greyhounds have proven their ability to bounce back stronger than ever. Last week, the Greyhounds recorded a dominating 38-7 home opener victory against Fort Worth Castleberry.
As the team lights a fire and continues to grind day in and day out, they look toward big moments on the field. Led by Brayden Gent, Ty Steedley, Lafe Bringman, Kentin Morrow, Murt Stewart, Jeremy Moffitt, Rhett Steen, Cole Kopenhefer, Reese Ragle, Spencer Johnson, and more, this squad has a strong offense that is prepared to make big plays against Jacksboro on Friday night.
What To Expect
Both of these teams have exactly what it takes to stop each other. A strong game IQ paired with driven athletes who are determined to post incredible seasons for their fans, this game is a must-see for those in the area. Both offenses are going to work hard to score early while the defenses are going to be expected to step up and take charge headed into the game. Fans can expect big plays from both of these squads as they battle it out in a non-district showdown. Last season, Jacksboro posted a 48-30 week three victory over Peaster and they'll look to continue defeating the Greyhounds while the Greyhounds look at this matchup as a moment to take back pride against Jacksboro.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Peaster.
