VYPE U Behind The Lens: Lamar Texans Remain Undefeated In District After Win Against Sam Houston MSTC (59-55)
The Lamar Texans came together as a team to defeat the Sam Houston Tigers 59-55. At the end of the 1st quarter the score was 17-15 (Tigers). Throughout the 2nd (30-28), 3rd (45-44), and 4th (59-55) quarter the Texans stayed ahead of the Tigers to win a close and exciting game. Leading the way for the Texans was C. Smith (#3) w/ 12 points, Sir Issac (#11) w/ 10 points, and M. Brown (#23) w/ 10 points.
Leading the way for the Tigers was C. Amboree (#0) w/ 15 points, J. Baines (#3) w/ 13 points, and K. Burton (#20) w/ 12 points.
VYPE U Behind The Lens: Lamar Texans Move Forward To Be 4-0 In District
The Lamar Texans battled it out against the Heights Bulldogs Wednesday night, pulling out a thrilling victory 54-53.
Heights came out swinging early, jumping out to an early 13-point first half 29-16 lead. When the Texans came back from halftime Sir Issac (No. 11) turned the game around for the Texans. His 10 points in the quarter helped pull the Texans even at 39-39 heading into the final frame.
From there the Texans would maintain a slight lead, until the closing seconds saw Heights take a 53-52 lead. Lamar's Marcus Brown would seal the win however with a put back game winner in the last five seconds.
With the 54-53 win, Lamar moves to 4-0 in district play and plays Houston Math and Science Tech tonight at The Pavilion at 7 p.m.
