After bursting onto the scene as a freshman, Iowa Colony quarterback Carson White looked to be the next big-time quarterback in Houston.
Now with double-digit offers after a big sophomore year, the Pioneer QB is becoming a hot commodity in the recruiting ranks.
“I feel like I grew a lot this year as a leader,” White said. “As a freshman, I remember walking into the locker room thinking this is big, but now it’s just routine and I feel more mature as a quarterback.”
Carson White had 1,871 passing yards with 30 passing touchdowns, earning him a District Offensive MVP selection. His play on the field helped the talented signal-caller pick up 13 offers from Auburn, Nebraska, K-State, Houston and SMU, to name a few.
“First off, I just want to give thanks to God because, without him, none of this would be possible,” he said. “The recruiting process has been good for me so far. There's a lot of things coming my way, and with my coaches and parents around me supporting me it’s been great.”
White also mentioned that schools like Oregon and Texas A&M have reached out as of late, and he’s looking forward to getting to know the staff at both schools.
“As of right now, Baylor and SMU have been standing out. SMU QB coach D’eriq King is someone I’ve known since I was a baby, he’s like my brother. Baylor is like a family every time I go over there. Those two are definitely in my top right now.”
With quarterbacks as a huge priority for every college program, White is going to have his pick of top programs across the country. Stay tuned.
