The Clear Springs Chargers have finished atop the district standings in five of the last seven seasons. Four-star offensive lineman Blake Ivy will set the tone up front. Ivy is a national prospect with NFL upside. Xai’Shaun Edwards will run right behind Ivy all season at running back for the Chargers. Edwards was an unanimous first-team, all-district pick. Defensively, outside linebacker Michael Sylvalie will lead the way after being the District 24-6A Defensive MVP in 2022. Other names to watch include Latham Logan (OL), Jarious Williams (WR), Hayden Davis (TE), Ali Schuster (CB), Gavin Collins (S), Peyton Miller (S) and Xander Fraga (K).

Clear Falls has been in the playoffs for four-straight years and made history in 2022. The Knights finished atop of the district for the first time in program history. Le’Kell McGowan will lead the defensive line, while first-team, all-district OL Jude Edwards guides the other side. Jacob Lockstein and Skyler Luzader are other names to take note of on the O-Line as well. First-team, all-district quarterback Landon Vessell is back for his senior year after passing for 1,835 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2022. His top targets were Dylan Proctor (424 yards, 6 TDs) and Kyle Hoffpauir (371 yards). Payton Greer will be eyed to fill the shoes of David Smith at running back for the Knights. Second-team, all-district linebacker Jackson Waid is back after leading the defense with 94 tackles in 2022. Other names to remember on that side include Angus Pingel (DL).

Under the direction of John Snelson, Dickinson has made the playoffs for 10-straight years and in five of those reached 10 or more wins. Last year, the Gators finished 8-4 overall. John Solomon is back to quarterback the offense after passing for 1,761 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2022. Solomon rushed for another 626 yards and 20 scores last season. The next big man on campus on the O-Line is Tyler Thomas, who already has 13 offers entering his junior season. Thomas is listed at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds. Devin Caldwell joins him on the line coming off a first-team, all-district season. Defensively, start with Arizona State-commit Rodney Bimage at cornerback. Jeremiah Scoby, listed as a tight end, earned first-team, all-district honors at fullback in 2022. Scoby is rated a three-star prospect and finished with 464 yards receiving and three scores in 2022. Other names to take note of are Mason Peterson (TE), Kaison Mangum (WR), Nicholas Pearce (CB), Ja’Marcus Anderson (DE), Jontue Fears (LB) and Kyle Kettner (P).

Brazoswood snapped a nine-year playoff drought in 2022, going 7-4 in Joe Dale Cary’s first season at the helm. Running back Jose Trevino is coming off a big sophomore campaign, in which he was named the District 24-6A Newcomer of the Year. Trevino finished with 762 yards and 14 touchdowns and should have another big year being he moves into the No. 1 RB role. Colton Doner returns on the offensive line after being named first-team, all-district in 2022. Anthony Trevino, a first-team, all-district pick, returns as the Bucs’ leading receiver after registering 577 yards and three scores. Defensively, linebacker Warren Caleb is back after being a second-team, all-district selection in 2022. Punter Caleb Warren was a first-team, all-district pick.

Clear Lake finished just on the outside of the playoff picture in 2022 and will have a new head coach in 2023 as Donald Lawrence takes over. Lawrence was the offensive coordinator at Langham Creek. Four-star wide receiver Hunter Moddon played both ways for the Falcons and led the team in interceptions (3). This team has offensive firepower. First-team, all-district back Elijah Harris (HCU-commit) is coming off a 1,012-yard campaign. Offensive linemen Colter Alberding and Liam Sweeney will provide the room for Harris up front. Devin Lippold is back at quarterback after passing for 1,171 yards and 10 scores. Defensively, Cecil Dressendorfer returns as the leader of the defense after registering 117 tackles at linebacker for the Falcons. Three-star safety Damani Maxson is verbally committed to Kansas. First-team punter Walter Kilgore also returns.

Clear Creek has made the playoffs in three of the last five years. The Wildcats finished 2-8 last year. Wide receiver Garrett Carleton was a second-team, all-district pick in 2022. Defensively, Quinton Gray was a second-teamer last season at cornerback, while Cah'lil Ward was a first-team safety. Clear Brook is looking to get back into the postseason for the first time since 2018. The Wolverines return second-team, all-district offensive lineman Jude Effinger, defensive tackle Kyle Forbes and first-team return man Jaylon Owens.
