COMMITTED: North Crowley QB Jimerson Jr. Sees Green

With the Texas High School football season a little over a month away, many rising seniors are finalizing their decisions on where they will pledge their commitments to Division I schools.

For one Dallas Fort-Worth star, decision day is today.

North Crowley 3-star quarterback Chris Jimerson Jr. committed to North Texas over Louisiana Lafayette, Texas State and Arkansas State.

Jimerson decommitted from TCU a little under a month ago and now is trading one local DFW school for another, but the decision to commit to the Mean Green was an easy one for the star QB.

“North Texas showed me a lot of love throughout this whole process,” Jimerson said. “They know how to develop quarterbacks and it really just felt like home. It means a lot. I want to be able to put on for my city and just keep the talent local.”

Jimerson has been playing varsity for North Crowley since his freshman year, and with his senior year quickly approaching, Jimerson is looking forward to going out on top.

“It’s been a long journey,” he said. “It’s going to be tough knowing it’s my last year, but I’m ready for the season to get here. We’ve got something to prove this year and I’m ready to get to it.”

With his commitment in the bag, Jimerson is also making sure to help the next generation of future prospects, especially one in particular -- his six-year-old brother.

“When I want to get away from what’s going on with my football career, I like to teach my brother,” he said. “My Dad works a lot and I just enjoy teaching him the game, showing him how hard I had to work to get where I am.”

North Texas is getting an impressive quarterback prospect and young man with Chris Jimerson Jr. Watch out for Jimerson and the North Crowley Panthers this Fall as they push for a State Title this fall.
