A Look Back
Denton Guyer plowed into the season last year with amazing victories over Hebron, Denton Ryan, and more in the preseason. After showcasing their talents through preseason play, the Wildcats posted a 5-1 district record to finish in the second place spot in their district- just behind Allen. Through playoffs, the Wildcats ended the seasons of Flower Mound, Dallas Jesuit, Trophy Club Byron Nelson, Prosper, and Tomball before appearing in the State Title game where they fell 40-21 to a strong Austin Westlake team.
A Look Ahead
The team graduated some of their best players last year, so there are still questions that arise as to who is filling what roles. But the Wildcats are lead by Oklahoma commit and four star quarterback Jackson Arnold who is poised for a big season. Additionally, with Sutton Lee proving to be a key returner and leader to what will be a young squad, the team is going to need a lot of strong guidance and determination to accomplish their goals this season.
What To Expect:
Rebuilding. It's not going to be an easy season, but if anyone can get it done, it's the Wildcats. Guyer, more than anything else, has a program and coaching staff that puts the pressure on their athletes at all times to keep them sharp and game day ready. Although they might drop a couple of games early in the preseason, fans can expect Guyer to enter district play ready to roll!
