Area powerhouse teams are going head-to-head in the regional finals round of the UIL baseball playoffs. Two of those teams include the Grapevine Mustangs and the Argyle Eagles who are looking to take each other down in order to punch their ticket to the UIL Baseball State Tournament. VYPE DFW takes a look at these two programs as they prep for their series!

Grapevine Mustangs (36-4, 13-1)

A nearly flawless season has seen the Mustangs outscored their opponents by a combined 224 runs so far this year. Argyle Eagles (29-6-2, 11-3)

Adapting and overcoming challenges throughout the season, the Eagles have found themselves on the cusp of the state tournament. Led by the likes of Brayden Rosckes, Colton Roquemore, Nathaniel Bruce, Barron Mannis, Grady Emerson, Alex D'Angelo, Grady Emerson, and more, Argyle put up plenty of non-district victories over Longview, Spring Hill, Boswell, Hallsville, Walnut Grove, and more en route to district play.

Focus and determination found the Eagles defeating tough district opponents like Lake Dallas (7-2, 6-3), Richland (3-0, 3-1), Colleyville Heritage (1-0), Denton Ryan (4-2, 3-0), Denton (8-0), and more as they finished second in their district standings-- just behind Grapevine. With the drive to fight forward, Argyle has continued their mission in the playoffs while defeating Cleburne (5-1, 2-1), Arlington Heights (4-3, 4-3), Aledo (2-0, 5-0), and Wylie (12-0, 5-4) in just two games each series.

What To Expect

Both teams are polished and ready to take on the other. Having already seen each other this season-- each boasting a victory over the other-- this is going to be a tough series that you aren't going to want to miss.
