Ball is Life: Haltom Lady Buffalos working through 2021-22 season
After being one of the top teams in their district during a weird season due to the pandemic a couple of seasons ago, the Haltom Lady Buffalos posted a season that wasn't quite desirable last year. This season, Haltom is back on track and ready to continue back on the road to their usual level of play. VYPEDFW dives into their season so far and what fans can expect the rest of this season:
Last season, Haltom had a tough schedule in which they posted a 5-12 overall record (3-9 in district play). Despite not being able to make a playoff appearance, the team was still able to post great victories over Arlington Lamar, Fort Worth Chisholm Trail, For Worth Paschal, and more.
This season, fans have been seeing more of the usual strength out of the Lady Buffalos. Haltom has already posted a 16-5 record with a 76% winning percentage. So far in district play, the Lady Buffalos have gone 2-1 and sit in the second place spot in their district just behind L.D. Bell. Led by junior Markencia Brisby and senior Madeline Fisher, the team has had a strong offense that has been able to post big-time victories over the likes of V.R. Eaton, school district rivals Richland and Birdville, Fort Worth Brewer, Irving Ranchview, North Crowley, and more.
The team will continue their district schedule on Friday evening where they face L.D. Bell in a big matchup. Haltom looks to use all of their energy and fast-paced effort to shut down the top-seated team in their district. Fans can expect nothing less than the best on the court from the Haltom Lady Buffalos for the rest of the season.
