The games start now…
It has been a telling preseason tournament season, but it’s now time for district play as Houston teams start positioning themselves for the postseason.
Cypress Ranch, behind the play of Taylor Porter (Vandy-commit) and a cohesive crew, have beaten four teams in the VYPE Top 25 Public School Rankings… two in the Top 5.
Do they have the staying power in Region II? It will be a tough go, but the Mustangs could be a Sate contender.
Fulshear’s move to Class 6A doesn’t seem to affect the Chargers at all. They are for real.
And then there is Stratford… What do we do with the Spartans? They will run through their district with Sarah Hickman dominating as one of the best hitters in H-Town. Stratford could be that sleeper in Region III that no one wants to face. Their preseason has been impressive.
Grand Oaks is looking for consistent setting but will get better as the season progresses. As the defending State Champs, the Grizzlies are getting everyone’s best game.
Cinco Ranch and Ridge Point will be the other powers of Region III, while Friendswood is the best Class 5A team in the area. Bellville is the best Class 4A team in Greater Houston....
